Entrusted by the Metro-North unions with labor’s seat on the MTA Board of Directors, Ed Valente speaks for every worker who keeps the railroad running — and the riders who depend on us. Representing his fellow union members at the board is an honor and a responsibility he carries seriously.

ACRE brings labor’s voice everywhere it matters — to legislators in Hartford and Albany, to the bargaining table, and inside the MTA — fighting for safer conditions, the investment that keeps the railroad running, and a stronger future for the crews who run it and the riders who depend on us.

ACRE promotes communication between labor and management, elected officials, and the media. Mr. Aprea regularly informs the public regarding the union's stance on health, safety, training, collective bargaining, and other issues of importance to its membership.

Additionally, as the New York Legislative Representative on behalf of ACRE, Mr. Aprea endorses the enactment, enforcement, and improvement of regulations and laws in the state of New York that concern the health, safety, and general welfare of the membership.

As the Connecticut Representative on behalf of ACRE, Ms. Grandfield coordinates and monitors legislative efforts directed toward the installation, application, and development of regulations and laws in the state of Connecticut that concern the health, safety, and general welfare of the membership.
